On October 13, 2023, Dean Farah G. Decano of Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU) was honored with a Recognition Award by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for the active involvement of the LNU College of Law and its students in the Cooperative Laws Awareness Program (CLAP). This recognition highlights the university’s commitment to promoting SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as it helps raise awareness about cooperative laws, governance, and the role of cooperatives in fostering economic justice and community empowerment. Through this partnership, LNU’s law students actively contributed to legal education and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector in the Philippines.

This collaboration also aligns with SDG 10: Reduced Inequality, by empowering marginalized communities through cooperative business models, enhancing social inclusion, and promoting equitable economic opportunities for all. The award underscores the university’s role in developing responsible citizens and future leaders who are equipped to advocate for justice, fairness, and sustainable development.
