University Measures the Amount of Waste Generated and Recycled Across the University

Responsible Consumption and Production

LNU is taking proactive steps to measure and manage the waste generated across its campus, aligning with the goals of sustainability and environmental responsibility outlined in the MOA Dagupan City Garbage Monitoring System. By implementing a robust waste tracking and recycling system, LNU is now able to accurately measure the volume of waste produced and the amount successfully diverted from landfills through recycling efforts. This initiative not only promotes greater awareness among students, faculty, and staff about their consumption and waste patterns, but also drives tangible actions toward reducing the university’s environmental footprint. The data collected through this system enables LNU to continuously refine its waste management strategies, ensuring that more waste is recycled, reused, or composted, while minimizing landfill contributions. Through this effort, LNU is not only leading by example in sustainable waste management practices but also contributing to a broader movement of cleaner, more resource-efficient campuses and communities.
