Sharing Sports Facilities with the Local Community
Good Health and Well-Being
Project Title: Lyceum Northwestern University as a Venue for Inter-School and LGU Sports Events
The Lyceum Northwestern University’s “Sharing Sports Facilities with the Local Community” project aims to promote health, wellness, and community engagement by opening the university’s sports amenities—such as gymnasiums, courts, and open fields—to residents of the surrounding community. Through this initiative, the university supports the physical and social development of the community while strengthening partnerships between the academic institution and local government units.
The project created a meaningful impact on both the university and the community. Residents benefited from improved access to safe and quality sports facilities, leading to healthier lifestyles and increased social cohesion. The initiative also cultivated a sense of belonging and goodwill toward the university, demonstrating its commitment to community service.
For students and faculty, the activity promoted volunteerism, leadership, and collaboration beyond the classroom. The project also enhanced the university’s visibility as a socially responsible institution aligned with UN SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
