Project Title: HIV Awareness Campaign: Empowering Students through Reproductive Health Education

The Lyceum Northwestern University  by the College of Medicine’s  HIV Awareness Campaign aimed to educate students on responsible sexual behavior, available reproductive health services, and the prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The activity emphasized the importance of informed decision-making, gender equality, and stigma reduction related to reproductive health concerns.

Impact: The activity significantly enhanced students’ awareness and understanding of reproductive health,  HIV prevention. It encouraged openness and reduced stigma surrounding sexual health topics. The collaboration between the university and health institutions provided students with direct access to health services and confidential counseling.

Faculty and student facilitators reported increased confidence in handling SRH discussions, while the partnership strengthened the university’s commitment to public health advocacy. The initiative directly contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
