Project Title: Nutrition Education and Feeding Program
The Nutrition Education and Feeding Program was organized by the College of Nursing, in collaboration with barangay council, barangay health workers and midwives of San Miguel, Calasiao. This initiative aimed to address issues of child malnutrition, promote proper dietary practices, and strengthen community awareness on the importance of balanced nutrition.
In support of UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 3, the program focused not only on providing nutritious meals but also on empowering families with the knowledge and skills to sustain healthy feeding habits at home thru proper education and referral system.
Impact: The program significantly improved the nutritional status and well-being of children in San Miguel. It enhanced the capacity of the barangay council, midwives and barangay health workers in health promotion and monitoring. Faculty and students gained practical experience in implementing community-based health interventions, fostering service-learning and civic engagement. The strengthened collaboration between the university and the community contributed to sustainable health promotion and disease prevention effort
