L-NU Strengthens Cross-Sectoral Dialogue through the “SDG Synergy” Forum

Partnership for the Goals

Lyceum-Northwestern University (L-NU), through the leadership of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), continues to take an active role in initiating and participating in cross-sectoral dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In collaboration with Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU), Thailand and Aklan Polytechnic College, L-NU successfully hosted the “SDG Synergy: A Forum on Best Practices in Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Education, Research, and Community Engagement.” Held at Espino Hall and streamed via Google Meet, the hybrid forum gathered university leaders, faculty members, staff, and institutional partners to collectively explore how higher education can serve as a driving force for sustainable development.

The forum served as a platform for meaningful exchanges among academic institutions, government-linked partners, and international collaborators—demonstrating L-NU’s firm commitment to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. As part of its contribution to policy dialogue and sustainable action, the University highlighted its role in identifying social and educational challenges, crafting responsive institutional strategies, and modeling sustainable futures through research, innovation, and community-based programs. The keynote address by Dr. Jonathan Carreon, Vice President for Academic Affairs of HCU, further reinforced the importance of global cooperation in developing socially responsible and sustainability-driven leaders.

Through initiatives such as the SDG Synergy Forum, L-NU continues to position itself not only as a learning institution but also as a knowledge hub and convenor for sustainable solutions. By fostering dialogue among diverse sectors, enabling the exchange of best practices, and encouraging collaborative monitoring and adaptive management of SDG-related interventions, the University contributes significantly to shaping regional and national development agendas, strengthening its role in advancing inclusive, resilient, and sustainable education.
