Empowering Families for Healthy Feeding Practices in Calasiao

The College of Nursing, in collaboration with the barangay council, health workers, and midwives of San Miguel, Calasiao, implemented the Nutrition Education and Feeding Program to combat child malnutrition, encourage healthy dietary habits, and increase community awareness of balanced nutrition. Aligned with SDGs 2 and 3, the program not only provided nutritious meals but also empowered families with the knowledge and skills to sustain proper feeding practices through education and referral support. Impact: The initiative enhanced children’s nutritional health, built the capacity of local health personnel, and offered faculty and students practical experience in community-based health initiatives, fostering service-learning, civic engagement, and long-term health promotion.
