Good Health and Well-Being

Project Title: Mental Health Awareness and Wellness Program
Sub-Activities:

  • Mental Health Awareness Seminars
  • Stress Management Sessions
  • Suicide Prevention Workshops

The Lyceum-Northwestern University Guidance Office’s  Mental Health Awareness and Wellness Program was implemented to promote psychological well-being and resilience among the university community. In line with Republic Act No. 11036 (Mental Health Act) and UN Sustainable Development Goal 3.4, the program focused on raising awareness of mental health issues, developing stress management skills, and strengthening suicide prevention efforts through education and early intervention.

These activities aimed to create a supportive and stigma-free environment where students and staff could seek help and develop coping strategies for daily challenges.

Impact: The program created a significant positive impact on the emotional and psychological well-being of the university community. Students and staff became more open to discussing mental health challenges and more proactive in seeking help.
Faculty and guidance personnel gained enhanced competencies in recognizing early signs of distress and providing appropriate interventions.

The initiative contributed directly to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, fostering a culture of care, empathy, and collective responsibility within the university.
