University Provides Public Access to Museums, Exhibition Spaces, Galleries, and Works of Art and Artifacts

Sustainable Cities and Communities

Lyceum-Northwestern University (L-NU) proudly hosts a gallery of historical photographs showcasing Dagupan City’s rich past, along with images capturing the university’s own legacy over the decades. This gallery, featuring rare and vintage photos, provides a window into the city’s transformation, documenting key landmarks, cultural events, and pivotal moments in both Dagupan’s and L-NU’s history.

The gallery aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which promotes inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable urban spaces. By preserving and sharing these historical images, L-NU fosters a deep connection to Dagupan’s heritage, strengthening residents’ sense of place and pride in their community.

This preservation effort also engages younger generations, promoting cultural continuity and a shared responsibility to uphold Dagupan’s unique identity as it evolves.

The gallery serves as a resource for students, educators, and local historians, encouraging learning and reflection on Dagupan’s journey. Through this initiative, L-NU reinforces its role as both an educational institution and a custodian of local culture, supporting SDG 11’s vision for sustainable and culturally vibrant cities.
