CCIPD Participates in L-NU AI Integration in Education Session

On June 27, 2024, the Lyceum-Northwestern University’s (L-NU) Center for Curriculum Innovation and Professional Development (CCIPD) actively participated in the AI Integration in Education Session held at the President’s Conference Room. This significant event was part of L-NU’s ongoing efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence into its educational framework, addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 (Quality Education) and 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

The session began with updates from the AI Committee, focusing on trainings attended and conducted, and the integration of AI from an information technology perspective, presented by Dr. Elizalde Berba, Chairman of the L-NU Committee on AI Integration in Education and Head of the Information Technology Technical Support Group.

 

Dr. Cynthia Lopez, Vice President for Research and Innovation Management and a member of the L-NU Committee on AI Integration in Education, along with Dr. Rodney Odesson Raguindin, Head of the CCIPD and also a member of the L-NU Committee on AI Integration in Education, presented on AI pilot study guidelines, progress, and AI integration in the curriculum from both researchers and educators perspectives.

The session also included a presentation on the draft of L-NU’s AI policy from an administrative perspective by Mr. Zachary Javelona, Head of Quality Assurance and a member of the AI Integration in Education Committee.

The meeting was attended by notable L-NU officials, including Dr. Luz T. Duque-Hammershaimb (University President), Dr. Marco Francisco Duque (Executive Vice President), Dr. Veronica Aquino (Vice President for International Affairs), Dr. Eugene Reyes (Vice President for Student Affairs Services), and Dr. Sergia Cacatian (representing L-NU educators).
