Lyceum Northwestern University’s HANDA-IGDIG Program, in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Bureau of Fire Protection, plays a vital role in enhancing community resilience and preparedness in the face of disasters. By offering expert talks on disaster preparedness, basic first aid, fire prevention, and awareness of various natural disasters, the program empowers local residents with the practical knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in times of crisis.

This initiative supports SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by fostering safer and more resilient communities, ensuring that vulnerable populations are better equipped to handle emergencies. Furthermore, it aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting public health and safety through first aid training, and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by increasing awareness of the risks posed by natural disasters and climate change. Through the HANDA-IGDIG Program, Lyceum Northwestern University strengthens the community’s capacity to protect lives and property, contributing to the creation of a safer, more sustainable environment.
